Christmas is a wonderful, but stressful time for a girl acquainted and fairly good friends with the vast world of food.  There are many things to bake, prepare, and serve.  Lots of time to kind of hover in the corner and watch an grandma or grandpa bite into something you have made and hope that they at least don't hate it.  That is why I have fallen in love with gingerbread houses.  Nobody has to eat or drink them, they just sit there and add to the swirling festivity.  I love feeling like a three year old and decorating like one too.  This year we used these extremely easy and fun kits from our local craft store.  They give you the general structure for the house, but then we go out and get our own fun candy to use. It is a totally de-stress event and almost everyone loves to adorn an edible house with candy!
