Christmas music playing while two or three buzz around our not-so-big kitchen; flour creating a snowstorm effect, eggs falling to the floor, and somebody is watching a football game. This is how my Christmas food preparation usually goes. The fridge is jammed up with eggnog and whipping cream so there can't possibly be a place to put the sugar cookie dough to chill, and every possible annoyance is making its presence known. One of my mom's big Christmas baking rules is that you have to take a break and rest your legs and mind just until the next recipe you concoct. I have learned that this is absolutely necessary--if you don't rest, your legs and feet get tired, you mess up a recipe, you start eating entirely to much dough or pie crust, and you get just plain irritable. Keep that in mind. Happy Baking!
